Terms and conditions of entry

1. Entrants must either be the manufacturer of the product entered or the retailer for whom the product has been manufactured.
2. Products entered by manufacturers must be sold within a UK grocery retail chain.
3. Entrants can enter as many products as they wish however products can only be entered once into one category. Entrants must choose the category that is most appropriate for that product. The Organiser reserves the right to change category at the time of judging deemed appropriate.
4. To be eligible to win the SuperMeat & Fish Awards Retailer of the Year award, a retail chain must have a representation of at least 12 everyday products and 5 Christmas products entered into the awards.
5. Everyday products must be readily available in-store at the time of judging on 10th July 2017. Christmas products must be available in store from 1st September to 31st January to qualify as a Christmas Product.
6. Entries for the Ready Meal category must have a minimum meat, fish or poultry content of 12.5%.
7. Entries for the Pie category must have a minimum meat, fish or poultry content of 12.5% and contain either a pastry topping or be encased in pastry. Potato topped pies will NOT be eligible for this category.
8. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to reject any entry that it deems inappropriate.
9. All retail counter entries and processing & supply chain entries, must be entered online in full by 5pm on Friday 19th May. All product entries must be entered online in full by 5pm on Friday 26th May.
10. Entries will only be accepted if they are submitted on online and completed in full with accompanying payment.
11. Entries must be submitted by the person responsible for the entry and to whom all correspondence concerning the Awards should be addressed.
12. Products must be submitted for judging as directed by the Organiser. Correspondence will be sent following entry confirmation. Failure to deliver products in accordance with the Organiser’s directions may result in the imposition of a surcharge for the rescheduling of a tasting or the disqualification of the entry, in which case entry fees are not refundable.
13. Products must be in date for consumption during the judging on 14th July 2017.
14. Four samples of each product presented in standard retail packaging must be delivered to Ashdown Manna Cookery School, Blackham, East Sussex on Monday 10th July. Full delivery details will be provided on receipt of your entry.
15. Products will be prepared for tasting according to the on-pack instructions. Christmas products not sent with full packaging will be cooked in accordance to the instructions supplied at the time of entry.
16. Christmas products packaging and marketing material does not have to be supplied. If products are supplied in Christmas packaging it will not be judged but can be supplied for information.
17. The finalists for the retail counter and processing & supply chain awards will be announced in June 2017. The finalists for the product awards will be announced following the judging in July 2017. All finalists will be notified via email.
18. Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on 8th September 2017 at the Hilton Bankside Hotel, London.
19. The Organiser reserves the right to change the categories and the judging panel without prior notice to entrants.
20. The Organiser’s decision on all matters affecting the awards is final and legally binding.
21. No correspondence will be entered into.
22. The Organiser reserves the right at the time of judging to change the requested entry sample and/or category, dependent on appropriateness and availability.
23. Entries, supporting materials and products will become the property of the Organiser and will not be returned.
24. Any winner may publicise a winning category Award provided the year in which it was won is stated. The Organiser licenses any winner to use the Awards logo in connection with its Award until 31st December 2018, as long as the art work is previously sent for approval.
25. Winners may be required to take part in some post-event publicity and consent to their name and photograph being used for such purposes.
26. By entering the Awards, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of the Draw and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
